Rio and other parts of south-eastern Brazil have been battered by floods and landslides, with several people killed.

Some 66 towns and cities in Minas Gerais state have declared a state of emergency.

This man fell into the flood in Ponte Nova, Brazil... Since there was nobody around to help him, he drowned..... So sad and shocking!! Rest in peace, whoever you were. Video by

  The floods and landslides in Minas Gerais state have caused the death of at least six people so far... Flooding is common in south-eastern Brazil during the rainy season. Nationwide, more than two million people have been affected by this year's rains, Brazil's civil defence force says. Last year floods killed more than 800 people, in what officials said was the worst natural disaster ever to befall Brazil. Video by
