The U.S. North Carolina state has announced evacuation from its coastal areas after hurricane Irene strengthened to Category 3 overnight. Irene moves northward with windspeed of up to 193 km per hour in the epicenter. It may strike on Saturday, becoming the first major hurricane to hit the U.S. coast since 2005. |
